Below you will find the answers to some frequently asked Microblading questions in relation to your procedure.

Does it hurt?

Discomfort is minimal and you will be kept comfortable during your treatment.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes, this is essential to ensure that you are not allergic to the pigments and equipment used during the procedure. This should be carried out at least 48 hrs before treatment.  A full medical consultation will also be conducted to ensure there are no contraindications.

Will I need a touch-up?

Yes, a perfecting re-touch appointment is recommended 6 weeks after the initial treatment.

Why do I need a touch-up?

The procedure is a two-part process. The colour will fade after the initial procedure during the healing process and is totally normal.  Better colour retention can be expected after the second treatment.  This also provides the opportunity to reflect on shape and colour and address any changes.

How long does it last?

This largely depends on the pigment colour chosen as darker colours will have better retention. On average the procedure lasts approx. 11-18 months depending on the skin type. Oilier skins will require more frequent top-ups.

Is it safe?

Yes. A patch test will be carried out before the treatment and your medical history will be taken to ensure that there are no contraindications that would prevent the procedure from going ahead. The procedure itself is performed by a fully insured technician under sterile conditions and licensed by the local authority.

How long does it take?

Approx 2 hours. Most of this time is spent mapping out the brow shape and ensuring the brows are symmetrical before any blading takes place.

Will I be swollen afterwards?

No, there should be no swelling afterwards. Mild redness in the area is normal but should disappear approx. 30 mins afterwards.  It will look as though you’ve just had a brow wax.

How long does it take to heal?

The area should have healed after 6 weeks. No further Microblading treatment should be undertaken within this period.

How do you choose the shape?

Measurements are calculated and a calliper is used to map out the shape that your brows should be to suit your face. You will be consulted throughout the process to ensure you are happy with the overall shape.

Can I come with my brows drawn in as I like them?

Yes, by all means. This can be helpful to understand your preferences although measurements will still be taken to check that the overall shape is correct for your face, and the shape will be redrawn before treatment.

I already have permanent make-up and would like to change the colour and shape, can you help?

Yes, Microblading can be carried out over the top of faded permanent make-up in order to make colour and shape corrections, providing that the old pigment has faded enough that the new brow strokes will be visible.

How do you choose the pigment colour?

A wide selection of pigments are available. These are matched to the existing brow and head hair colour.  Your own preferences are also taken into account.

What will the end result look like?

The end result is very natural and mimics natural brow hair stroke. It is not harsh block colour and is more subtle than powdering or pencilling the eyebrows in with makeup.

Can it be removed?

Some minor corrections can be made but you will need to see a laser removal specialist for complete removal.
